No more abs-juice or kapton – printing on glass + hairspray
As the quality or brand of the kapton tape we have too many rolls of is not too good and whilst the print does stick well on kapton+abs-juice the kapton does not stay on the glass and thus on taller prints there is pretty severe lifting in corners.
It was time to try different approach. This time without the tape that is not good and just use hairspray directly on the glass. Worked pretty well. The bottom surface of print looks a lot nicer and cleaner and warping is a lot smaller. On the scale there are parts printed on hairspray and other parts printed on abs-juice. You might be able to spot difference but it is hard from the photos. ABS + hairspray + heated bed works pretty well.
Here are some of the parts of the second SmartRapCore that is in the works at the moment. The fourth new 3D-printer build of the year.
